So today.
While I was waiting for the bus I talked to this girl who just recently moved here from the Philippines. We chatted for a bit.
When the bus came, she didn't know that her day pass had expired.
The bus driver gave her crap saying that it expired, and was about to get off the bus so I paid for her bus fare for her.
Then at the very next stop a lady with a walker got on the bus, and didn't realise that the VTA doesn't give paper day passes anymore. The driver raised his voice at her.
And then, when the bus was approaching Oakridge, the lady with the walker stood up, and the driver raised his voice at her again telling her she needs to sit down until he stops.
When he finally stopped the bus, myself and the girl from the first bus stop got off. I went to the front of the bus, and I told the driver "don't you dare talk to your passengers like that you disrespectful piece of shit."
And then, the driver opened the door and said "that's what I thought."
Finally. After all that. The girl, bought me a coffee from Starbucks and said its her way of saying thank you for saving her today.
The moral of this really long post is that I saved a girl from being late for work, she bought me coffee as a way of saying thank you, and I stood up for both of the people who the VTA driver disrespected... before I went and saw Deadpool.
You don't need to have superpowers in a Hollywood movie to help people and stick up for people in real life.
Have a great rest of your weekend everyone.
