Film star Sigourney Weaver was disappointed to learn about the plans for the 2004 sci-fi crossover film, Alien vs Predator, because she was proud of the Alien series. Alien vs Predator grossed $172 million dollars in ticket sales and was followed up with Aliens vs. Predator- Requiem. It was a crossover of the Alien and Predator franchises that wasn’t exactly a hit with the fans and critics. According to Weaver the Aliens vs. Predator series disrupted a successful Alien series at the time and it might have been better to keep the Predators away from the Aliens. The Hollywood actress was depressed at the crossover franchise until now. She is to star in a new Alien film directed by Neill Blomkamp. Radio Times reports: When asked at London Film and Comic Con today if it was her choice to have her character Ripley killed off in Alien 3, the actress replied: “Well, yes – because I heard that Fox was gonna do Alien vs Predator.
